Representing Acoma Pueblo, Alexis Ray is Contestant #3 in the 2025 Miss Indian New Mexico Pageant. Alexis carries with her the teachings and traditions of her ancestors. She has learned to sew her Pueblo’s traditional garments, crochet, and is now embracing pottery and painting.

Alexis credits her knowledge of sewing and cooking to her late maternal great-grandmother, Velma Vallo, whose memory continues to inspire her. Witnessing the decline of the Keres language and traditional practices has strengthened Alexis’s commitment to cultural preservation. She is passionate about encouraging Native youth to speak their languages and remain rooted in their cultural lifeways.
